Annual Photo Contests
The Department holds two annual photo contests, the Watchable Wildlife Photo Contest and the North Dakota Outdoors Calendar Photo Contest.
Watchable Wildlife Photo Contest
The first Watchable Wildlife contest was held in 1989.
The contest showcases North Dakota's wildlife, plant and insect species. Winning photos are displayed on the Department's website and in the January issue of the North Dakota Outdoors magazine, the Department's monthly magazine.
North Dakota Outdoors Calendar Photo Contest
The Department's North Dakota Outdoors calendar features photos that highlight North Dakota through the seasons.
Mammals, birds, fish, scenics, native plants and wildflowers, and hunting and fishing recreation, are all appropriate subjects.
